Wu Wan'an was born in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province in 1944. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a director of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, and a calligrapher. He is also a professor-level senior engineer and enjoys a special government allowance.He is employed by many art organizations: a director of the Chinese Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, the lifelong honorary chairman of the Chinese Research Association of Calligraphy and Painting Masters, the honorary president of the Chinese Lanting Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a visiting professor at the Creative Center of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, an art consultant of the Chinese Culture Research Institute, a lifelong art consultant of the China International Artists Association, a senior researcher at the China International Modern Art Research Center, and a member of the Beijing Collectors Association. He has been specially appointed as a special calligrapher of the China National Gift Center.His honors include being selected on high-end online platforms such as the Chinese Cultural Celebrities Hall, China Art Talent Network, National Modern Art Network, Youku Video, etc. His works have been selected for the World Celebrity Cultural Village - Weifang International Stele Forest. His works have participated in many national exhibitions and competitions and won more than 30 awards (including 13 gold awards, such as the gold award of the First Chinese Calligraphy and Painting "Lanting Cup").He has been awarded honorary titles such as "Chinese Cultural Celebrity", "Calligraphy Art Talent with Both Virtue and Artistry", "Famous Master of Chinese Traditional Art", "Contemporary Chinese Calligrapher and Painter with Real Strength in Collection", "International Gold Award Artist", "Patriotic Artist", "Famous Master of a Generation", "Top 100 Contemporary Artists with the Most Collection Value and Market Potential", "Internationally Most Influential Calligrapher and Painter", "Master of Chinese Overseas Art", "Great Confucian Leading the Spread of Chinese Art".

He was also selected for the "First Recommended Book of Chinese National Gifts in 2024 - Special Spring Festival Issue of China's International Cultural Exchange in 2024" Masters of a Generation • Wu Wan'an (for cultural exchange).

Some of his works have been permanently collected by units such as the Art Museum of Wu Daozi, the Sage of Painting, Bailudong Academy of Calligraphy and Painting in Lushan, and the People's Government of Shaoshan City.
